Hand of the Wind Taijiquan
Tai Chi and Qigong
Tai Chi
Tai Chi (Taiji, Tai Chi Chuan or Taijiquan) is familiar to most people as the sequence of flowing movements often seen being performed by groups of people in parks in China.
Originally developed as a Martial Art, Tai Chi has long been recognised for its considerable benefits for health and relaxation.  These benefits are now being supported by a growing body of research and Tai Chi continues to grow in popularity as a gentle form of exercise suitable for people of all ages and levels of physical fitness.
At Hand of the Wind Taijiquan we practice the Lee Family Style of Tai Chi, as brought to the UK by Chan Kam Lee in the 1930s and popularized by Chee Soo through the second half of the Twentieth Century.  The Lee Family Style is a truly holistic system which incorporates Tai Chi, Qigong, Taoist Yoga and a full martial training curriculum.
At Hand of the Wind Tai Chi and Qigong classes we focus on the Health and Relaxation aspects of the Style.  For those students who are interested in learning the martial aspects of the style, please refer to our martial classes at Paignton Tai Chi Studio.
Classes are taught by Conrad Robinson, Senior Instructor with the Tai Chi and Qigong Union for Great Britain.  Conrad began his training in the Lee Family Internal Arts in January 1993 and founded Hand of the Wind Taijiquan in 2008 to promote the arts.
